Programming info

Play On Con offers a host of unique programming suited to a wide range of fan interests. Play on Con programming is all about being interactive and fun for every audience member! We strive to create a schedule of events that include the audience, are directed by passionate people, and are welcoming to all attendees.

  Panels:

We strive to create events that encourage everyone to feel welcome and at home, including hardcore geeks and casual fans alike. Panels can be on a wide variety of subjects including costuming, gaming, fandom, and much more!

Shows:

We always plan a healthy amount of exciting shows designed to engage everyone in the audience, including high energy live music performances, game shows, karaoke, and much more.

Workshops:

We think it's more fun to learn by doing than by watching, so we always plan some great hands-on workshops. In our workshops, we have had attendees make projects of all kinds including origami, dice bags, and even electronic circuits!

Outdoors:

Every year since moving to the 4-h center, we have had a lot of fun planning unique outdoor activities. Featured activities usually include archery, canoeing, and squirt gun battles, to name a few.

Kids and Families:

We love when whole families come play on with us! In fact, we have a track of programming, gaming, and other events just for kids/young adults and their families, called Apprentice Track. Apprentice Track runs the entire weekend, and has a full schedule of varied events that we have designed specifically to appeal to the under 21 crowd and their accompanying adult. In addition to the apprentice track, all events at Play On Con during the day are typically family friendly unless specifically noted otherwise in the program book.

...And this is only some of the fun we have every year. Several events we typically plan don't quite fit into one of the above categories like the charity casino, and the costume contest.

Want more details for POC 10? Our Programming List of Events will be updated as we get more info!

We need all the input that we can get to make Play On Con the best convention that it can be. If you have programming concepts, share them! If you have artistic ideas, let us know! If you want to help with convention operations, contact Marc to join the crew! We welcome your talents, and hope that you will volunteer to help!
